Litigation Associate Los Angeles, CA

Description:Fox Rothschild has an opening in the Los Angeles CA office for a Litigation Associate with three to six years of experience. The ideal candidate will have experience handling complex commercial litigation matters and managing a diverse litigation caseload. This associate will work closely with attorneys across the firms Litigation Department on a broad range of matters including banking and finance real estate and construction insurance business torts and class actions. This position offers meaningful client interaction substantial responsibility and the opportunity to work on sophisticated matters in a collaborative team-oriented environment. Qualifications:

• Juris Doctorate (JD) required. Must be licensed to practice law in the State of California

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

• Strong academic credentials and excellent legal research writing and analytical skills required.
• Experience drafting and responding to pleadings motions and written discovery required.
• Experience conducting legal research preparing case strategy and communicating directly with clients required.
• Experience taking and defending depositions preferred.
• Experience preparing for and participating in mediations arbitrations and court hearings preferred.
• Federal or state judicial clerkship experience is a plus.
• Trial experience preferred but not required.
• Large law firm experience strongly preferred.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment including but not limited to computers telephones printers and copiers.

Physical Requirements

• Sedentary work: Exertion of physical strength to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects up to 10 pounds. Work involves sitting most of the time. Walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.

Compensation & Benefits

• The salary range for this position applies to California. The salary range reflects a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience education licensure and/or certifications geographic location market demands and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for a position. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this position is $225000 - $245000.
