JOB DESCRIPTION
Primary Responsibilities
- Install and maintain infrastructure components in a physical/virtualized Linux Environment.
- Configuration and troubleshooting of all aspects of Linux servers.
- Deployment and migration of applications and Oracle databases.
- Administer troubleshoot and resolve failures and critical alerts on Linux Systems.
- Write and troubleshoot Linux Shell Scripts.
- Fault finding analysis and logging information for reporting of performance exceptions.
- Proactively monitoring system performance and capacity planning.
- Manage coordinate and implement software upgrades patches hot fixes on Linux servers.
Key Objectives
- Proactively maintain and develop all Linux infrastructure technology to maintain a 24x7x365 uptime service.
- Engineering of systems administration-related solutions for various project and operational needs.
- Maintain best practices on managing systems and services across all environments.
- Provide input on ways to improve the stability security efficiency and scalability of the environment.
- Collaborate with other teams and team members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes.
- Documentation of infrastructure architecture processes and operating procedures.
(QUALIFICATIONS Section)
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors degree from an accredited institution.
- 3-5 years experience in Linux Server administration (Redhat/OEL) in large enterprise environment.
- At least 2 years experience in building and managing Redhat OpenShift based Virtualized environments.
- Strong working knowledge of Linux: RedHat OEL CentOS etc.
- Knowledge of Commvault Backup and EMC Data Domain.
Preferred Qualifications
- Redhat Linux Certification (RHCSA/RHCT/RHCE).
- Familiarity with HCI VMWare SAN management and Storage concepts.
- Working Knowledge of Shell Perl and/or Python scripting.
- Solid knowledge of protocols such as DNS HTTP LDAP SMTP and SNMP.
- Strong problem solving and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of ITSM Tools (Service Now).
