The Opportunity:
This position serves as a key resource in monitoring and improving adherence to LICWAC policy ICW practices and Tribal-State agreements. It focuses on identifying trends addressing gaps through targeted training and ensuring consistent implementation of policies for children both in-home and in out-of-home care. The role also builds and maintains strong partnerships with tribes Native urban communities and other stakeholders while providing regional coordination and oversight to promote compliance and strengthen culturally responsive practices across the agency.

Some of what you will get to do:

• Updates and standardizes DCYF systems and forms to reflect updated LICWAC policy and compliance changes.
• Updates and maintains a LICWAC Member application packet.
• Creates and coordinates LICWAC Orientations for both Members and Liaisons.
• Oversees coordinates and monitors the Local Indian Child Welfare Advisory Committees (LICWAC) in the state to include on-going recruitment and for all committee member.
• Coordinates LICWAC specific content in the Family Practice Profiles (FPP) a series of guidance directed to workers and coaches to use that describe behaviors in service areas of child welfare.
• Provides an annual LICWAC retreat to provide updates to LICWAC members and DCYF staff.
• Creates and implements a training plan for LICWAC members across the state in accordance with the ICW Policy and Procedures.
• Creates and implements a training for child welfare staff for LICWAC policy and procedures. Assists with Regional LICWAC Advisory meetings.
• Develops an online Learning Management System training module for DCYF staff in how to prepare for a LICWAC.
• Participates in various committee assignments.
• Completes regional/field office assignments.

Required Qualifications:

Equivalent professional experience totaling nine (9) years of progressively responsible experience in planning administering developing supervising or delivering family and child related social services.

OR

A Bachelors degree in social work a health or social science public administration or a related field AND five years of professional experience in planning administering developing or delivering social financial or health services programs including two years of paid social service experience assessing safety and risk to children and providing direct family-centered practice services (strengthening and preserving family units)

OR

A Masters degree in Social Work a health or social science public administration or a related field AND four years of experience in planning administrating developing or delivering social financial health or chemical dependency treatment services programs; including two years of paid social service experience assessing safety and risk to children and providing direct family-centered practice services (strengthening and preserving family units).

OR

One year of experience as a Social and Health Program Consultant 3 or equivalent.

OR

Two years of experience as a Social and Health Program Consultant 2 or equivalent.

AND

• The ability to take action to learn and grow.
• The ability to take action to meet the needs of others.

-Note: A degree in social work must be from an educational program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
