Licensing Representative
Monitors all licensing applications to ensure that they are processed and submitted to DCFS in an accurate and timely manner.
Monitors all 6 month evaluations of foster/relative homes. Monitors all renewals of foster/relative homes.
Assists supervisor in monitoring the quality and quantity of licensing services provided by the workers.
Reviews licensing materials and studies written by downstate staff.
Processes all licensing documentation for adoption staff.
Prepares and distributes listing of foster homes available for placement to other units.
Works effectively with other Child Welfare units to monitor foster parent performance.
Provides assistance and consultation to downstate supervisors and licensing staff.
Conducts foster parent surveys regarding foster parent concerns needs and satisfaction with service.
Assists in training sessions and support groups of foster parents.
EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Must have a Bachelors Degree in Social Work Human Services or related field. Prefer but not required at least 1 year of Child Welfare experience licensed as a Child Welfare Specialist and trained in DCFS Rule 402 and Child Care Act. Must demonstrate ability to relate to clients. Must have own car with valid drivers license and insurance.

PHYSICAL AND SPECIAL DEMANDS

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the essential duties listed in the job description satisfactorily.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms. Objects include a computer and keyboard calculator typical business machines such as a fax machine and copier. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. The employee may work in and/or visit Agency offices throughout Illinois and must be able to transport him/herself to these sites. The employee is required to have a valid drivers license and must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle.

The work environment characteristics include a noise level which is usually low to moderate.
