Lawton Indian Hospital is a federal Indian Health Service hospital in the Oklahoma City Area serving American Indian beneficiaries across southwestern Oklahoma. The facility provides inpatient care including general surgery internal medicine gynecology and pediatrics along with a broad outpatient program spanning family medicine dentistry pharmacy radiology laboratory nursing optometry podiatry and audiology plus community health nursing health education and social services. The hospital records over 800 admissions and more than 100000 outpatient visits per year.

As an Outpatient Clinic LPN at Lawton Indian Hospital you will provide direct nursing support in the ambulatory care setting rooming and assessing patients administering medications and immunizations assisting with procedures documenting in the electronic health record and coordinating follow-up care for a diverse American Indian patient population. This is a steady daytime role with a predictable weekday schedule and real continuity with the patients you serve.

- Room and assess patients obtain vital signs and document chief complaints in the electronic health record
- Administer medications injections and immunizations within the LPN scope of practice
- Assist providers with in-clinic examinations treatments and minor procedures
- Perform wound care dressing changes and specimen collection as ordered
- Provide patient and family education on treatment plans medications and follow-up care
- Triage patient calls and coordinate referrals lab work and follow-up appointments
- Maintain clinic supplies equipment and exam rooms in accordance with infection control standards
- Graduate of an accredited practical/vocational nursing program
- Current active unrestricted LPN/LVN license in any U.S. state or territory
- Minimum one (1) year of nursing experience; outpatient or ambulatory clinic experience preferred
- Current BLS certification
- Experience with electronic health records
Monday through Friday 8:00 AM 4:00 PM. Six (6) month contract assignment.
