Job Summary
Licensed Practical NursePosition
Seeking compassionate and experienced LPN to provide 1:1 direct medical/health care support tomedically fragilestudentsduring the school day. Ventilatortracheostomyand g-tube experienceisidealhowevertraining will also be provided if needed. The ideal candidate will also need to be CPR/BLS certified. LPN will provide medical support whichincludes managing ventilator support tracheostomy suctioning andpossible tracheostomychanges G-tubemonitoringand care along with oral feeds responding to medical emergencies bathroom hygiene care and good documentation skills. The individual will also needstrong communicationskills and be able to work independently within the school setting alsoincluding having reliable attendance and working as a team with other school disciplines.
Qualifications:
- Must be a fully certified Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Registered with the state of Michigan with Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) as a licensedPractical Nurse.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working as an LPN in the field.
- Preferred CPR First Aid and Stop the Bleed certified.
- Excellent and empathetic communicator.
- Excellent writing and mathematics ability.
Description:
- Demonstrated ability to train monitor document and effectively implement health care plans that potentially are critical and/or chronic.
- Effectively work with administration indeterminingthe level of support needed for a student for accommodations and IDEA 504 plans.
- Ability to develop strong working relationships with students under your care
- Effective communication skills
- Demonstrated rapport with local physicians hospitals local and state agencies.
- Conduct and attend parent meetings.
- Ability to work exceptionally with our diverse community and professional staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
