Job Summary

Summary

This position is located at JBLM MWR Grandstaff Memorial Library.

Incentives and Bonuses

  • Incentives will not be paid.

Regular Full Time appointments are guaranteed 40 hours per work week and are eligible for all Army NAF benefits.

Duties
  • Provides technician support by performing a wide variety of direct services to the public: registers patrons charges/discharges materials processes overdues and reserves assists with interlibrary loans and reserves.
  • Shelves library materials prepares displays programs activities answers basic reference questions and assists customers in locating materials.
  • Assists in maintaining accountability records and in performing shelf inventories. Performs simple maintenance on the librarys automated systems.
  • Provides technical services support in a variety of functions: basic/copy cataloging ordering/receiving/processing and de-acquisitioning of library materials.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.

  • Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities
  • Incumbent is subject to completion of a favorable background check/investigation Childcare National Agency Check (CNACI) to determine suitability for this position. All local background checks will be re-verified every 5 years.
  • Incumbent may perform physical exertion such as long periods of standing bending crouching stooping stretching reaching pushing of loaded trucks; and recurring lifting of heavy items such as boxes of books or journals.
Qualifications

A qualified candidate must possess the following:

  • One year of specialized experience at the next lower grade or
  • Two years of education above high school or
  • A combination of specialized experience and education that equates to 100% of the qualification requirements.

Joint Base Lewis McChord is located in Washington State and the local commuting area is defined as locations that are on or within a 50-mile radius of the JBLM installation.   • This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances cost of living (COLA) and differentials will not be paid contingent upon eligibility.
