Job Summary
This position is located at Hays Library Fort Stewart GA.Incentives and Bonuses
- Incentives will not be paid.
- Provides technician support by performing a wide variety of direct services to the public: registers patrons charges/discharges materials processes overdues and reserves.
- Assists with interlibrary loans and reserves shelves library materials prepares displays programs activities answers basic reference questions and assists customers in locating materials.
- Provides technical services support in a variety of functions: basic/copy cataloging ordering/receiving/processing and deacquisitioning of library materials.
- Assists in maintaining accountability records and in performing shelf inventories. Performs simple maintenance on the librarys automated systems.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3 para 2 to include completing a Tier 1 background investigation.
- Incumbent may perform physical exertion such as long periods of standing bending crouching stooping stretching reaching pushing of loaded trucks and recurring lifting of heavy items such as boxes of books or journals.

A qualified candidate must possess the following:
One year of specialized experience at the next lower grade
or
Two years of education above high schoolorA combination of specialized experience and education that equates to 100% of the qualification requirements.
In addition to the above qualifications candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered Highly Preferred or Best Qualified:
- Has knowledge of Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR).
- Has previous library volunteer or work experience

- This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
