Job Description: Binghamton University seeks applicants for a full-time lecturer in the Theatre Department to serve the universitys musical theatre BFA program for an appointment of up to three years with the possibility of renewal beginning August 16 2027. The ideal candidate will have distinction and a firm foundation as a voice teacher vocal pedagogue and/or musical theatre performer/teaching artist. This position will teach musicianship studio voice lessons vocal technique and music skills to musical theatre students. This requires an effective vocal technician invested in the success of their students through teaching healthy sustainable voice scientifically informed technique and the ability to connect with students from a variety of racial ethnic cultural and gender identities. The ideal candidate will possess both the patience and creativity to work with students new to vocal study as well as the high standards and expertise to continue pushing students who are further along in their vocal development. Beyond the voice studio this position will attend occasional rehearsals teach or co-teach regular workshops as part of a weekly seminar series teach musicianship courses for musical theatre majors covering the continued development of sight-singing ear training arrangement piano and other music skills. This person may also have the opportunity to teach other courses depending upon their specialties and areas of interest.
