Lecturer in Mathematics (Introduction to STEM Skills)

The Department of Mathematics at Brandeis University seeks an instructor to teach two sections (running sequentially) of MATH 2f Introduction to STEM Skills a two-credit course in Spring 2027. The course is intended to provide support to students who do not qualify to take a calculus class or need extra support to succeed in these classes. It helps students build the basic mathematical skills they will need in STEM courses hone their problem-solving skills and develop and leverage a learning community at Brandeis. There are no pre-requisite for this class. The class meets Monday and Wednesday 2:30pm 3:50pm.

Candidates with a MA or a PhD in mathematics or education and teaching experience in these domains will be given preference. Interested individuals should submit a cover letter CV a draft course syllabus and names and contact information for two references. The deadline for first consideration is November 1 2026.

This appointment is to a position that is in a collective bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local 509.

Compensation for this assignment is $8764.20.
