Job Summary
Étoile Academy Charter School is a K-8 public charter network in Houston serving a majority emergent bilingual economically disadvantaged student population. The Leader-in-Residence spends one year working alongside a campus principal leading real work with real accountability to prepare for a campus leadership role. Placement after the residency depends on performance and network need.
- Coach a caseload of teachers through SPOT observation and feedback cycles.
- Lead data meetings using STAAR-aligned assessment results to plan reteach and intervention.
- Review lesson plans for rigor and alignment to the TEKS.
- Strengthen instruction for emergent bilingual students and engagement with Spanish- and Pashto-speaking families.
- Progressively own campus systems including student culture operations and STAAR testing logistics.
- Lead professional development and participate in hiring.
- Complete residency coursework and lead one campus improvement project with measurable student outcome goals.
- Teach a portion of the school day.
