Job Summary
Lead Tool Room Technicianis a senior-level maintenance role within a Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility responsible for overseeing the tool room and functions to ensure safe efficient and compliant aircraft maintenance operations.
In This Role YOU will:
- Leads a crew of Tool Room employees over multiple locations across the facility.
- Tool Control & Inventory Management:Lead and maintain an effective Tool Control Program issuing tracking monitoring and accounting for all tools used in aircraft maintenance
- Enters tooling inventory through ATS.
- Purchases tooling and equipment necessary to minimize delays and increase production and efficiency.
- Maintains tooling and equipment inventory to ensure serviceability and accountability including repairs load test calibration and re-calibration.
- Rents or leases tooling and equipment necessary to minimize delays and increase production and efficiency.
- Trains and assists his/her subordinates with proper procedures methods and practices to be followed in each respective duty.
- Assists Planning in procuring tools and equipment necessary for certification by the FAA to work on different types of commercial aircraft and work scopes.
- Evaluates departmental operations recommending improvements in quality productivity and employee relations. Implements programs and/or procedures that strive for excellence in quality as maintained by the company Quality Assurance program. Resolves departmental problems by identifying the problem researching alternatives analyzing the costs and benefits implementing the best alternative and evaluating the end results.
- Enforces all company policies and procedures to all Tool Room employees fairly and consistently.

The ability to communicate both orally and in writing by presenting ideas and giving instructions/guidance to subordinates co-workers supervisors and outside agencies to ensure that instructions are carried out and requested information is obtained; The ability to motivate and lead a staff or team of subordinates to obtain goals higher productivity and quality of work; The ability to delegate and prioritize work effectively; creative; persuasive.
INTERPERSONAL ENVIORMENT:
A strong level of interpersonal skills is required to maintain an effective relationship among employees various departments management and outside agencies.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:
Essential responsibilities are performed in a climate-controlled office but are not limited to the office. Must be able to cope with stress and mental exhaustion due to the pressures of accomplishing set goals meeting short deadlines maintaining numerous projects simultaneously employee confrontations and long work hours.
What YOU Need:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 3 years of experience working in an MRO environment.
- Working knowledge of Toom Room operations
- Working knowledge of ATS systems
