Lead Full Stack Engineer San Francisco $185k$210k Equity

Im working with a small Y Combinator-backed technology company in San Francisco looking for a genuinely strong Full Stack Engineer to take ownership of its core software platform.

The business is building a data and analytics platform for agriculture processing large amounts of operational data to help farmers make better decisions.

Theyre particularly interested in engineers from strong engineering environments such as Google SpaceX or similar who also have the independence and curiosity to build products from 0 to 1.

This is a hands-on role with significant technical ownership working directly with the founders.

The Role

Youll be responsible for:

• Building production backend systems using Python.
• Developing frontend applications using JavaScript/React.
• Designing and optimising PostgreSQL databases.
• Building automated data pipelines and processing complex datasets.
• Owning cloud infrastructure CI/CD and production reliability.
• Making architecture decisions and shipping features end-to-end.
• Helping shape the technical direction as the company grows.

What Theyre Looking For

• 6 years of software engineering experience.
• Strong full-stack ability across Python and JavaScript.
• Deep understanding of databases data pipelines and infrastructure.
• Experience building and shipping products from 0 to 1.
• Strong engineering fundamentals ideally from a technically demanding organisation.
• Someone genuinely curious independent and comfortable working without constant direction.
• Previous Founding Engineer or early-stage startup experience would be particularly interesting.
• Practical experience using AI development tools such as Cursor or Claude.

Agriculture experience isnt required. Theyre far more interested in strong engineering ability and someone who enjoys solving difficult problems.
