Omnicare is a leading provider of pharmacy services to long-term care facilities nationwide supporting skilled nursing facilities assisted living communities and other institutional care settings. Following the sale of Omnicare by CVS Health this role will support Omnicare and its continued operations as an independent standalone organization. Candidates should be aware that this role will not remain within CVS Health following the transaction. The individual hired into this role will be employed by Omnicare and will contribute to shaping the future of our organization during this exciting period of growth and transformation.

Position Summary:

Do you thrive in a leadership role Or maybe looking to take the next step in career Join our Omnicare closed-door pharmacy as a Lead Pharmacy Technician in our Back End department and help us deliver best customer support to our long-term care assisted living and chronic care customers.

Day In The Life:

As a Lead Pharmacy Technician you will work to lead and support the back-end pharmacy technician team by ensuring proper preparation of medications to be dispensed by the pharmacist team. Our back-end team focuses on order fulfillment including packaging and dispensing of medication reviewing delivery orders and bins for accuracy and coordinating stock rotations. Additional tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Leading and assisting Pre-Pack Picking Staging Automated Dispensing Purchasing Inventory Returns/Credits and Delivery departments toward their primary objectives
  • Providing regular and timely feedback on pharmacy technician performance
  • Partnering with pharmacy leaders on team training plans and collaborating with field training teams as needed
  • Assisting in orientation training and education programs for all controlled substances in accordance with policies procedures state and federal laws

Required Qualifications:

  • Certification/licensed/registered pharmacy technician or as required by state law
  • One (1) or more years of experience as a pharmacy technician or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Additional Skills/Experience but not Required:

  • Prior experience in the long-term care industry
  • Prior experience in a pharmacy retail medical or customer service setting
  • PTCB National Certification

Education:

  • Verifiable High School Diploma or GED

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$18.50 - $35.29

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience education geography and other relevant factors.
