Job Summary
Lead Nuclear Medicine/PET CT Technologist
Willowbrook Cardiovascular Associates is adding to our team and in search of a full-time Lead Nuclear Medicine / PET CT Technologist in Houston TX. This position is based in our Dotson Road office location.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Explains procedure to patients to assure cooperation and optimum test results
- Prepares stock solutions of radiopharmaceutical materials calculate doses and administer doses under direction of Physician
- Performs diagnostic exams including Cardiac PET CT studies on patients as prescribed by physicians including treadmill supervision and starting IVs.
- Measures radioactivity using Geiger counters scalers and scintillation detectors
- Follows radiation safety techniques in use and disposal of radioactive materials
- Maintains quality control of all equipment
- Maintains records of patient dosing hot lab management and regulatory requirements
- Maintains dosimetry monitoring program
- Responds to all audits in a timely manner
- Oversees claim reconciliation within PACs system and eMR
- Manage patient volume and scheduling
- Manage patient communication of appointment details test details and basic financial responsibility info provided by RCM team
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Must have excellent interpersonal and critical thinking skills
- Leadership experience preferred
- Must be confident with working independently in a very busy private cardiology practice setting.
Requirements
- Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology
- Must be registered with ARRT or NMTCB
- 2 years of experience preferred.
- BLS/CPR Certification
