Job Summary
This position is an essential part of Sherwins manufacturing team. This position is responsible for assisting the Maintenance and/or Engineering Manager or Supervisor while contributing to the proper maintenance of equipment machinery and facility as a maintenance technician. This position performs various maintenance tasks as assigned and is responsible for maintaining a safe clean and productive working environment.
Shift: Monday - Friday 1:30pm-9:30pm with flexibility to support a 24/7 operation
Responsibilities
- Support shift set-up including scheduling and maintenance planning
- Monitor and report on productivity and other relevant shift activity
- Contribute ideas to improve or optimize maintenance procedures
- Abide by and promote all company safety and quality expectations
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections and service on equipment
- Repair broken machines and equipment quickly and efficiently
- Identify causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines
- Order and install replacement parts for machines
- Maintain and service building equipment including HVAC lighting water and sewer etc.
- Maintain documentation as required
- Clean organize inventory stock and otherwise maintain shop areas parts tools and supplies
- Maintain technical knowledge through training
- Lead Maintenance Personnel
- Train and develop maintenance mechanics
- Emergency call-in as required
Qualifications
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
- Must have at least five (5) years of work experience as a mechanic in a manufacturing and/or distribution environment
- Have at least one (1) year of experience in leadership role(s) supervising others or leading teams
- Have completed formal training in and/or have at least one (1) year of work experience applying continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma 5-S Lean Manufacturing Transactional Lean etc.
- Have a basic understanding of electrical hydraulic and pneumatic theory
- Have knowledge of Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) programming
- Have an industrial electrical or welding certification or license
