Lead Engineer

The Opportunity

Cordova is seeking a visionary Lead Software Engineer to guide the engineering team behind a critical Digital Document Management this role you will hold dual responsibility: maintaining and maximizing the value of robust enterprise content platforms while architecting the long-term cloud modernization strategy for the enterprises document management capabilities.

As a hands-on technical anchor you will direct a multidisciplinary development team in the design coding testing and debugging of secure high-availability applications. You will serve as a key technical liaison between business units vendors and enterprise architecture teams converting business requirements into scalable resilient software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & System Design

• Application Architecture: Lead the design of applications code modules and technology frameworks ensuring they comply with enterprise standards and long-term architectural vision.

• Modernization Strategy: Analyze legacy enterprise content management configurations (IBM FileNet P8 IBM DataCap CMOD) and develop a comprehensive cloud-forward modernization roadmap.

• Diagramming & Documentation: Create and maintain detailed application blueprints dependency maps and network topology diagrams.

• Resilience Planning: Optimize systems according to enterprise best practices focusing on high availability load balancing and disaster recovery (DR) protocols.

Hands-on Development & DevOps

• Full-Stack Engineering: Participate directly in development building and maintaining enterprise applications using Java Spring Boot Spring Batch Hibernate and JPA.

• Cloud Integration: Develop microservices architectures deploying across hybrid environments and native AWS services (S3 SQS SNS Secrets Manager).

• CI/CD Optimization: Oversee and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines optimizing automated builds testing frameworks and deployment automation.

• Database Management: Leverage relational databases including SQL Server and Oracle across Windows and Linux environments.

Security Compliance & Governance

• SecOps Oversight: Act as the primary technical owner for vulnerability remediation compliance deficits data security assessments and penetration (PEN) test resolutions.

• Data Protection: Ensure all solutions are fully compliant with application security standards advanced encryption methods and data-in-flight protections.

• Change Coordination: Partner with Change Management to plan rollout schedules production releases post-release validation and business unit alignment.

Mentorship & Collaboration

• Team Coaching: Direct code reviews and mentor engineers on code quality minimizing complexity maintainability and thorough unit testing.

• Agile Facilitation: Actively participate in Agile ceremonies sprint planning and work decomposition; identify cross-team dependencies.

• Community Engagement: Contribute actively to the enterprise Architecture Guild and Community of Practice (COP); lead vendor evaluations and technical Proofs of Concept (POCs).

The Ideal Candidate

Experience & Qualifications

• Tenure: 8 years of deep experience in software engineering developing complex enterprise applications.

• Backend Mastery: Advanced proficiency in Java Spring Boot Spring MVC Struts Spring Batch Hibernate and JPA.

• Enterprise Infrastructure: Proven experience deploying applications on IBM WebSphere across hybrid cloud setups.

• Agile & SDLC: Track record of driving engineering excellence within an Agile framework (frequent check-ins continuous integration and automated testing).

Preferred Technical Context (Desired)

• IBM Enterprise Content Management (ECM): Hands-on experience with IBM FileNet P8 DataCap and Content Management on Demand (CMOD).

• Modern Frontend: Familiarity with modern UI frameworks like React.

• Enterprise Integration: Experience with digital collaboration tools (DocuSign eGain Miro).
