Lead Engineer II – Expansion Design
Job Summary
This position is 100% onsite; no remote or hybrid option is available at this time.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Lead the conceptual design and development of new turbine engine components including defining component geometry material selection and functional performance requirements for new product programs.
- Establish product design specifications and engineering requirements including tolerance schemes performance criteria and validation parameters prior to release to manufacturing.
- Integrate design-for-manufacturability and design-to-cost principles at the conceptual stage solely to inform design decisions without responsibility for developing or implementing manufacturing processes.
- Develop original component designs intended for new product introductions and expansion programs ensuring that design requirements are fully defined prior to transition to manufacturing teams.
- Prepare and own engineering design documentation including detailed component drawings design models and technical specifications required for product release.
- Lead formal engineering design reviews and approve design releases ensuring that all product requirements are satisfied before components are transferred to manufacturing for execution.
- Define validation strategies and performance testing requirements for newly designed components including coordination with testing teams to confirm design integrity.
- Provide technical design direction during early-stage product development and initial production launch solely to ensure adherence to design intent without involvement in production floor operations or process execution.
- Develop design standards methodologies and best practices for turbine engine component development including guidance on performance reliability and cost considerations at the design level.
M-F 40 hrs./wk. 8:00 am 5:00 pm.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
U.S. or Foreign bachelors degree in industrial engineering (or a closely related field)
Two (2) years of experience involving engineering analysis design evaluation or manufacturing integration related to aerospace gas turbine engines.
Two (2) years of applied engineering experience involving aerospace gas turbine engine components.
