TheState of Connecticut Connecticut Technical Education and Career System (CTECS) is currently recruiting for one (1) full-time Lead Custodian position at Platt Technical High School in Milford CT.
As a Lead Custodian at Platt Technical High School and play a vital role in maintaining a safe clean and welcoming learning environment for students staff and this leadership role you will serve as a working supervisor guiding and supporting a team of custodians while ensuring the school is maintained to the highest standards. This position offers the opportunity to coordinate daily operations prioritize and assign work train and mentor staff assist with performance evaluations and collaborate with school personnel and outside partners to support efficient facility operations. For over 100 years CTECS has been the leading force in Career Technical Education (CTE) in the State of Connecticut. CTECS operates 17 diploma-granting technical high schools one technical education center and two airframe mechanics and aircraft maintenance programs. The school system provides a direct employment pipeline for high school students and adult learners.

- Plans crew workflow and determines priorities;
- Schedules assigns oversees and reviews work;
- Establishes and maintains crew procedures;
- Provides staff training and assistance;
- Conducts or assists in conducting performance evaluations;
- Acts as liaison with operating units agencies and outside officials regarding unit policies and procedures;
- Ensures supplies and equipment for crew are adequate by reporting shortages to supervisor;
- Performs full range of duties as outlined in Custodian class specification;
- May make recommendations on policies or standards;
- May prepare reports and correspondence;
- Performs related duties as required.

- Experience waxing and polishing floors using floor polishers and buffers.
- Experience moving furniture in a school and/or setting up classrooms.
- Experience removing snow and ice from stairways and walkways around schools or commercial buildings using equipment such as a shovel blower or plow.
- Experience performing minor maintenance on tools and equipment used in daily work.
- Experience in deep cleaning using sanitizing equipment and solutions.
- Incumbents in this class must have adequate physical strength stamina physical agility and visual and auditory acuity and must maintain such physical fitness as to be able to perform the duties.
- A physical examination may be required.
