Job Summary
Position Overview:
The Lead Capital Equipment Technicianserves as the senior technical resource for theRPS technicianteam ensuring the reliability availability and performance ofVelo3Dsmetal additive manufacturing equipment.Thisposition provides day-to-day technical leadership by mentoring technicians training new employees coordinating maintenance priorities and supporting production to maximize printer uptime and on-time delivery.
The Lead Technician performs advanced troubleshooting and repairs across mechanical electrical pneumatic and software-controlled systems while helpingallocateteam resources and ensuring maintenance activities are completed safely efficiently andin accordance withcompany standards. This position works cross-functionally tomaintainequipment readiness and minimize production downtime.
Provideday-to-day technical leadership for theRPS technicianteam.
Mentorand train new and junior techniciansonequipment operation troubleshooting preventive maintenance and safe work practices.
Helpprioritize daily activities andallocateresources based on production needs and equipment status.
Ensureassigned maintenance activities are completed accurately safely and on schedule.
Performadvanced troubleshooting and repair of Velo3D additive manufacturing systems including mechanical electrical pneumatic vacuum cooling motion control and process systems.
Performpreventive and corrective maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and availability.
Diagnosecomplex equipment failures and determineappropriate correctiveactions.
Assisttechnicians in resolving complex equipment issues and provide technical guidance during repairs.
Supportproduction by ensuring maintenance activities minimize equipment downtime and maintain printer availability.
Create update andmaintainwork orders maintenance records equipment logs and service documentation.
Ensuremaintenance documentation is completeaccurate and supports future troubleshooting efforts.
Verifyspare parts consumables and maintenance materials are available to support planned work.
Promotesafe work practices and ensure compliance with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) PPE and company safety procedures.
Identifyrecurring equipment issues and communicate recommendations to Engineering and management.
Performother duties as assigned to support manufacturing operations.
Highschool diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or vocational training preferred.
5 yearsof experiencemaintainingcomplex manufacturing or capital equipment in a production environment.
Demonstratedexperiencetroubleshooting industrial equipment with mechanical electrical pneumatic vacuum cooling and motion control systems.
Strongability to read and interpret electrical schematics wiring diagrams pneumatic diagrams and mechanical drawings.
Experiencetroubleshooting sensors motors VFDs relays PLC-controlled systems and industrial control hardware.
Strongunderstanding of preventive maintenance principles and equipment reliability.
Provenability to mentor and train technicians.
Strongorganizational and communication skills.
Abilityto prioritize multiple equipment issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Excellenttroubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
Strongcomputerproficiency including Windows operating systems and maintenance documentation systems.
