Lead CAD Technician

Collects and inputs survey and engineering data into a CAD/CAM/CAE software database and providing specific deliverables to construction and field survey teams in the form of GPS Machine Control Models Surfaces Linework and visual Documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assesses engineering requirements and translates into technical blueprints drawings layouts and simulation models using CAD/CAM/CAE software ensures drawings meet product design goals.
• Coaches and mentors other team members.
• Expert understanding and usage of CAD/CAM/CAE design and drafting software platforms.
• Oversees modeling and design duties that require site authorization or have legal precedence.
• Reviews and provides feedback on work product(s) for subordinate CAD Technicians.
• Lead technician in matters of design changes/updates.
• Good collaboration skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Qualifications

• Has specialized technical expertise within an analytical/scientific method or operational process to
  perform a broad range of complex work assignments.
• Completes assignments and facilitates the work activities of others; may coordinate work beyond own area.
• May act as team lead providing subject matter guidance to team members but is not a supervisor.
• Works autonomously within established procedures and practices; proposing improvement to processes and methods as needed.
• Minimum High School Diploma or GED required; Associate or bachelors degree in drafting or survey preferred.
• Minimum 6 years of Computer Aided Design (CAD) support and/or experience required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Employee will be required to communicate in person via telephone email video chat and software systems. Position will be based from an on-site office on construction sites and industrial facilities requiring mobility (on ground and at heights) and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat safety glasses/goggles ear plugs/muffs masks/respirators safety vests gloves and work boots

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Employee will work in multiple environments including an office warehouse and in a trailer or building on construction sites. On construction sites noise levels will be moderate to high. Job site will contain - light to heavy equipment vehicles small to large equipment materials communication equipment and tools people standing walking sitting signaling and talking bells whistles and alarms.
