Law Fellow

The Fellow provides foundational legal support tothe Office of Legal Counselthrough research document preparation compliance assistance and policy development. The role is designed to build practical legal experience in a highereducation environment while supporting the daytoday operations of the Office of Legal Counsel. This fellowship is timelimited and is expected to conclude within two years.

The position will remain open until filled but only applications received by October 20th will be guaranteed full consideration.

• Supports attorneys in their delivery of legal services by conducting legal research preparing substantive legal documents and agreements assisting with project coordination and contributing to training initiatives.
• Provides contract and document support including reviewing standard agreements under attorney supervision maintaining contract templates assisting with contract intake and tracking and supporting document management processes.
• Conducts compliance and policy support activities such as reviewing policies benchmarking peer institutions assisting with compliance reviews and helping develop internal guidance materials.
• Assists with investigations andlitigationrelated tasks including gathering documentsdocument review discovery organizationpreparing timelines or factual summaries supporting subpoena responses and organizing case files.
• Contributes to training and educational initiatives by drafting training materials creating quickreference guides and assisting attorneys in delivering workshops to campus units.
• Other duties as assigned

1. Juris Doctorawarded within the previous 2 years.
2. Admission to the Tennessee bar (bar passage required).
