How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Laser Unload Parts Handler you will support our fabrication operations by safely unloading sorting identifying and moving metal parts produced by laser-cutting equipment. You will inspect parts for obvious defects organize material by work order and move parts to the appropriate next stage of production. This is a hands-on fast-paced manufacturing role that requires attention to detail safe material handling and the ability to perform physical work throughout the shift.

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX your core responsibilities will be:

Safety

  • Follow all safety rules procedures and required personal protective equipment while working around laser-cutting and material-handling equipment.
  • Maintain the laser unload area carts racks and surrounding work areas in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Use material-handling tools and equipment safely and report equipment material or safety concerns to the team lead or supervisor.

Quality

  • Confirm material part numbers sizes quantities and parts match work orders or job tickets.
  • Visually inspect cut metal parts for obvious defects damage or incorrect material and report concerns to the lead or supervisor.
  • Separate acceptable parts from scrap or nonconforming material and keep jobs organized to prevent parts from being mixed.
  • Complete assigned work within established safety quality and productivity guidelines.
  • Accurately document counts work completed or other required production information using company procedures.

Delivery

  • Safely unload cut metal parts and scrap material from laser-cutting equipment.
  • Sort count identify and organize parts according to work orders job tickets part numbers or production requirements.
  • Stack stage palletize or place metal parts into carts racks bins or designated production areas for the next operation.
  • Move parts and materials to the appropriate production area using approved material-handling equipment as trained and authorized.
  • Assist with other fabrication or general production tasks as workload requires while meeting established safety quality and productivity standards.

What we are looking for (Experience Knowledge Skills Abilities Education)

We each bring something to the table and we are looking for someone who has:

Required Experience

  • Ability to safely lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds with assistance when needed.
  • Ability to stand walk bend reach push pull and perform repetitive physical work throughout the shift.
  • Basic counting math and measurement skills.
  • Ability to read and follow basic work instructions part numbers and job tickets.
  • Attention to detail reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.

Preferred Experience Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Previous manufacturing warehouse fabrication construction or general labor experience.
  • Experience handling sheet metal fabricated metal parts or similar materials.
  • Experience using carts pallet jacks forklifts overhead cranes or other material-handling equipment.
  • Previous experience working around laser plasma or other metal-cutting equipment.
  • Experience using computerized manufacturing or production tracking systems is a plus.

Education & Certifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
