Land Representative (Acquisition Specialist)

As a Land Representative I at RES you will support land acquisition and property research efforts for a wide range of ecological restoration water quality and conservation projects. Working closely with senior land representatives and internal teams youll help identify evaluate and secure land assets while learning the business legal and environmental factors that shape long-term land strategy at RES. The role will cover Western of NC and part of Eastern Tennessee and can work from the home office or from our Charlotte NC Greensboro NC or Asheville NC locations.

This role is ideal for someone early in their land or real estate career who enjoys research negotiation and working directly with landowners and external stakeholders.

• Youll work at the intersection of real estate and environmental restoration. Every parcel you help evaluate supports projects that restore wetlands improve water quality or protect endangered species habitats.
• Youll build valuable skills in land acquisition. From online research to contract preparation and field visits youll learn every stage of the land transaction process.
• Youll grow your long-term career. This is a foundational role with pathways toward senior land or sales positions.

A Day in the Life

Youll begin your day researching property records using online databases analyzing parcel maps in Google Earth or reviewing site features in preparation for a field visit. You may support senior team members in assessing land for acquisition by collecting property details such as zoning access and site constraints.

Throughout the week youll help prepare and organize contracts track landowner communications evaluate basic title documents and enter property details into internal systems. Youll also build your knowledge of the RES land modelunderstanding how land supports mitigation and restoration strategies and how we plan for long-term resale and stewardship..

We would love to talk to you if you have many of the following:

• Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. environmental studies real estate business or related field)
• 1 year of experience in land acquisition real estate or sales (preferred)
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint and Adobe
• Strong internet research skills and ability to learn online property records systems
• Willingness to learn Google Earth GIS tools and RES internal platforms
• Basic knowledge of land valuation principles and real estate terminology

What will make you stand out

• Experience preparing or reviewing land-related contracts
• Understanding of property title issues access constraints or zoning
• Familiarity with restoration-related land transactions or environmental due diligence
