This reputation allows us to continue to grow and offer exciting opportunities like this one - for you!Place of Performance - Services shall be provided on-site: VA Maine Healthcare System Togus VAMC 1 VA Center Augusta ME 04330Shift Schedule: FlexibleEducation & Experience:The MT is to perform the services covered by this contract is a nationally certified MT with three (3) years of recent chemistry urinalysis blood bank hematology coagulation and microbiology :Chemistry: Abbott general chemistry and immunoassayHematology: SysmexCoagulation: ACL TOPUrinalysis: Iris automated systemBlood Bank testingCertification: ASCP ( MT) ASCP (CLS) or AMT (Required)Medical Technologist Duties include but are not limited to:Evaluates the suitability of specimen for analysis requesting new specimen if determined to be specimens for analysis ensuring that the physiologic state of the specimen properties is performs evaluates and monitors the performance of test procedures using manual and/or instrumental techniques in accordance with established and reacts to indicators of malfunction; locates and implements quality control procedures on equipment reagents and products and maintains proper records for quality control reports. Calibrates/standardizes/adjusts and maintains correct instrument operation using established procedures and quality control checks and the cause of common problems and makes simple repairs. Evaluates the validity of data in relation to the test system and accepted assay quantitative data with patient data (i.e. history medications) to verify additional tests to clarify or confirm abnormal patient results.
