Floyd Valley Healthcare in Le Mars IA has a full-time (40 hours per week) position in our LaboratoryDepartment for a Laboratory Assistant.

Laboratory Assistant Responsibilities:
- The Lab Assistant duties include but are not limited to: performing phlebotomy drug and alcohol testing operating and maintaining waived lab equipment.
- Takes lab orders from physicians offices. Request faxed orders with diagnosis and signatures. Notifies providers of orders that do not meet lab criteria.
- Represents the laboratory by screening incoming telephone calls; recording and transmitting messages; scheduling receiving and announcing scheduled patients and visitors.
Requirements:
- Two years of clinical Lab experience is preferred.
- High School diploma or GED.
- BLS a plus; certification is required as an employee.
- Mandatory Reporter training certificate a plus; certification is required as an employee.
