As a Laboratory Aide you will collect samples from patients for laboratory screenings maintain inventory and distribute supplies as a member of the Clinical Laboratory team.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collects blood samples from neonatal pediatric and adult patients in the laboratoryoutpatient service area laboratory area nursing floors or in the emergency room
- Labels specimens and transports them to the laboratory for testing
- Prepares urine specimens
- Maintains inventory of supplies and notifies leadership when supplies are needed
- Assists in charting and filing laboratory slips answers the telephone and assists inmaintaining the laboratory in a clean and orderly condition

REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of formal phlebotomy program or previous experience with ability todemonstrate phlebotomy skills prior to employment.
