Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) to join a Level II Labor & Delivery unit. The L&D RN will provide comprehensive care to patients 32 weeks gestation and above supporting patients throughout labor delivery cesarean sections and postpartum recovery.
The ideal candidate will be experienced in high-quality obstetric nursing patient triage fetal monitoring cesarean section circulation and collaborative care with physicians and certified nurse-midwives.

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) to join a Level II Labor & Delivery unit. The L&D RN will provide comprehensive care to patients 32 weeks gestation and above supporting patients throughout labor delivery cesarean sections and postpartum recovery.
The ideal candidate will be experienced in high-quality obstetric nursing patient triage fetal monitoring cesarean section circulation and collaborative care with physicians and certified nurse-midwives.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to Labor & Delivery patients at 32 weeks gestation and above.
- Perform assessment and triage of obstetric patients presenting to Labor & Delivery.
- Monitor maternal and fetal conditions throughout labor and delivery.
- Manage labor and delivery collaboratively with physicians midwives and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Circulate Cesarean sections (C-sections) and assist the surgical team as needed.
- Provide care during vaginal and cesarean deliveries.
- Complete maternal and newborn recovery following vaginal and cesarean deliveries.
- Administer medications treatments and interventions according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Recognize changes in maternal or fetal condition and respond appropriately to emergent situations.
- Provide patient and family education regarding labor delivery postpartum care and newborn care.
- Accurately document patient assessments interventions and outcomes in the electronic medical record.
- Maintain a safe supportive and patient-centered environment.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians midwives anesthesia surgical staff and other healthcare professionals.
Required Qualifications
- Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Previous Labor & Delivery nursing experience.
- Experience caring for obstetric patients 32 weeks gestation and above.
- Strong experience with patient triage in a Labor & Delivery setting.
- Experience circulating Cesarean sections.
- Ability to independently manage labor and delivery in collaboration with physicians and midwives.
- Current BLS ACLS and NRP certifications.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience preferred.
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred.
- Previous experience with Epic EMR preferred.
- Experience in a Level II or higher Labor & Delivery setting is highly desirable.
