Lab Manager Ceramics and Sculpture

What We Are Looking For

The Lab Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations maintenance and safety of Baylor Universitys ceramics and sculpture laboratories. This role will manage specialized studio spaces equipment and technical processes while supporting faculty and students in a collaborative learning environment. Ensures labs are organized fully operational and compliant with safety standards across multiple art disciplines.

A masters degree and one year of relevant experience are required. Three years of relevant experience is preferred

All applicants must be eligible to work in the US on a full time basis.

What Will You Do

• Coordinate the daily operation and maintenance of ceramics and sculpture laboratories.
• Manage the glaze room throwing and hand-building studios kiln areas 3D design and sculpture classroom woodshop welding areas and foundry.
• Maintain studio equipment tools and materials to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Support faculty and students with technical guidance and laboratory resources.
• Monitor and enforce laboratory safety procedures and best practices.
• Coordinate kiln operations glazing processes and sculpture studio workflows.
• Maintain inventory of supplies equipment and studio materials.
• Foster a collaborative organized and positive learning environment.
• Communicate effectively with faculty staff and students to support instructional needs.
• Utilize expertise in both ceramics and sculpture processes to support academic programs.
• Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylors mission
• Ability to comply with University policies
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance
