Job Summary

Summary
Kemmerer Junior Senior High School is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented custodian to join our team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean safe and welcoming environment for students staff and visitors. This role is essential in supporting the overall functionality of the school and ensuring that all facilities are well-kept and conducive to learning.

Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping mopping vacuuming dusting and sanitizing classrooms restrooms hallways and common areas.
- Ensure that all facilities are stocked with necessary supplies such as soap paper towels and toilet paper.
- Conduct routine inspections of school facilities and report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel.
- Set up and take down furniture and equipment for school events meetings and activities as needed.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for all staff and students.
- Assist in the removal of trash and recycling from all areas of the school.
- Participate in special cleaning projects such as deep cleaning during school breaks or after events.
- Maintain custodial equipment and supplies ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Collaborate with other staff members to support the overall cleanliness and functionality of the school.
- Adhere to all school policies and procedures including those related to health and safety.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in custodial or janitorial work is a plus but not required.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting bending and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning products equipment and safety procedures.
- Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Must pass a background check as required by school district policies.
- Availability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends if necessary.
