Kindergarten Instructional Assistant (2026-27) Maryville Elementary

Assist acertified teacher in providing instruction to individual or small groups; monitor and report student progress.

Seeking applicants with the following qualifications.

Position Details

Hours:2hours per day

Contract Length:179 days per year

• 170 student instructional days
• 7 planning days
• 2 extended days

Contract Adjustments:Contracted days will be prorated based on the start date

Employment Status:Part-time (not eligible for benefits)

Employment Type:10-month employee on the classified pay schedule

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education:Must meetoneof the following:
• 48 college semester hours
• An Associates Degree OR
• High school diplomaplusa passing score on the Paraeducator Assessment Exam.
• Documentation:Candidates must provide proof of educational requirements to HR upon recommendation for hire.

Compensation & Experience Credit

2026-2027 Pay Scale

• Starting Pay (Step 0):$16.46/hour
• Experienced Pay (Step 10):$20.26/hour

We value experience!

Previous experience working with students intervention systems and small-group instruction is strongly desired.

New hires may bring up to 10 years of comparable full-time verified experience.

• The hired applicant is responsible for submitting the BCPS Verification of Experience Form to prior employers for completion and return to HR.

Payroll Note:While this is an hourly position the salary is distributed via a year-long contract over 10 months. You will receive 4 paychecks at the end of June.
