Job Summary

About the Role:

As a Kennel Team Member you will play a vital role in ensuring the health safety and comfort of animals under our care. Your primary focus will be to maintain a clean organized and safe environment within the kennel facility which directly impacts the well-being of the animals. You will be responsible for daily feeding medicating grooming and monitoring of animals as well as assisting with their exercise and socialization. This role requires a compassionate and attentive approach to animal care as well as effective communication with team members and pet owners. Ultimately your efforts will contribute to a positive experience for both the animals and their owners supporting the overall mission of our hospital.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to safely handle and care for animals of various sizes and temperaments.
  • Basic knowledge of animal care and hygiene practices.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting cleaning and standing for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and reliability.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to work independently and is reliable.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in a kennel veterinary clinic or animal shelter.
  • Certification in pet first aid or animal care.
  • Familiarity with animal behavior and basic training techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with pet owners and team members.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily care for animals including feeding watering grooming and exercising.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kennels common areas and equipment to ensure a safe environment.
  • Monitor animal health and behavior reporting any concerns or abnormalities to supervisory staff promptly.
  • Assist with intake and release procedures including documentation and communication with pet owners.
  • Support team members in various tasks to ensure smooth kennel operations and excellent animal care.

Skills:

The required skills such as animal handling attention to detail and physical stamina are essential for daily tasks like feeding cleaning and monitoring animal health. Effective communication skills help in coordinating with team members and providing clear updates to pet owners. Preferred skills like knowledge of animal behavior and first aid enhance the ability to respond appropriately to animal needs and emergencies. Organizational skills ensure that the kennel environment remains clean and orderly promoting animal welfare. Together these skills enable the Kennel Team Member to deliver compassionate efficient and professional care every day.


Saturday- 8am-10am and 4pm-6pm
Sunday- 8am-10am and 4pm-6pm
Monday- 8am-6pm
