This role focuses on understanding customer needs defining product requirements providing technical and sales support product selection assistance and ensuring clear communication to and from our global teams to support successful customer design IntroductionAmphenol Industrial Operations headquartered in Endicott New York with global manufacturing sales and marketing locations specializes in delivering a comprehensive range of high-reliability power and signal connectors along with interconnection systems designed specifically for industrial applications. Coordinate between our global sites and teams to provide a single channel to the customer in their time with customers to gather clarify and document product requirements including electrical mechanical environmental and regulatory needs and confirm product customers in product selection/configuration based on their applicationsInterpret internal validation and performance data to ensure product suitability and application riskTranslate customer needs into clear internal specifications and requirements documentsSupport technical discussions related to connector selection cable construction shielding and performance expectationsBuild and maintain product documentation with product managers and pricing / tech & Technical Sales SupportPartner with sales teams to review RFQs (Requests for Quote) and provide technical inputAssist in defining product scope materials and manufacturing processes for accurate costingHelp develop product concepts and preliminary solutions aligned with customer requirementsParticipate in customer calls design reviews and technical presentationsAssist in the development and revision of pricing / stocking pkg strategies price file creation and cost -Functional CoordinationCoordinate tasks for a team outline timelines for projects. Lead CFT meetings for product support closely with design engineers to ensure customer requirements are clearly understood and properly implementedCommunicate product gaps new feature or performance requirements to product as a liaison between customers and internal teams during product development (specific to configuration and customization of standard product).Support communication of design changes feasibility concerns and technical trade-offsProvide technical guidance on standard products to internal teams for prototype and production ramp Product Development SupportTrack project milestones and ensure alignment between customer expectations and internal deliverablesEnsure new product iterations/configurations are on time and align with NPI in managing new product introduction (NPI) from concept through productionSupport prototype review and customer feedback cyclesSupport engineering change requests (ECRs) and documentation updatesQuality & Issue ResolutionSupport investigation of customer complaints or product issues by gathering field data and clarifying requirementsParticipate in root cause discussions and help communicate findings and corrective actions to customersEnsure customer specifications align with applicable standards and manufacturing capabilitiesQualifications Education & Experience RequirementsBachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering or related field02 years of experience in engineering applications engineering or technical sales (internships included) Basic understanding of electrical systems (signal power shielding grounding concepts) Familiarity with connectors wire types cable assemblies and harnessing preferred Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications Comfortable working with BOMs product specs and cost drivers Basic CAD familiarity is helpful but not requiredFamiliarity with ERP/PLM systemsStrong communication skills (especially explaining technical concepts to non-engineers) Customer-focused mindset with strong listening and clarification skills Ability to organize and document requirements clearly and accurately Strong coordination and project tracking abilities Problem-solving mindset with attention to detailFlexibility to work across global time zones as Requirements:The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
