Location
Phoenix AZ On-site with Fieldwork
Enjoy a rewarding combination of office-based engineering and hands-on structural inspections throughout the Greater Phoenix area. Approximately 50% of your time will be spent in the field giving you opportunities to investigate real-world structural challenges.
Note
Candidates must have a bachelors degree in Civil or Structural Engineering EIT certification or completion of the PE exam and at least 1 year of hands-on building structural inspection or assessment experience. You must enjoy fieldwork and be comfortable traveling to job sites including accessing roofs and structures when necessary. Experience limited to bridges or transportation infrastructure does not qualify.

Job Description
- Investigate structural damage caused by fires floods vehicle impacts foundation movement and other events.
- Perform hands-on building inspections document existing conditions and assess structural integrity.
- Develop engineering recommendations and repair solutions for damaged residential commercial and industrial buildings.
- Prepare detailed technical reports field notes photographs and structural calculations.
- Evaluate wood steel concrete and masonry structures across diverse projects.
- Assist with structural design repair drawings and special inspections.
- Collaborate with experienced engineers project managers and clients to deliver practical solutions.
- Develop your expertise in forensic investigations structural assessments and building restoration.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Structural Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
- EIT certification or completion of the PE exam.
- 1 years of hands-on building structural inspection assessment or related field engineering experience.
- Familiarity with residential commercial or industrial building structures.
- Ability and willingness to perform regular field inspections including climbing ladders and accessing roofs.
- Valid drivers license and ability to travel to project sites.
- Strong communication technical writing and problem-solving skills.
- AutoCAD and structural design experience are a plus.
