Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness Junior Consultant
US Army Contract - Real Property experience required
Locations: Austin Texas Sumter South Carolina

@Orchard LLC has an immediate need for a FIP/FIAR Consultant to support the U.S. Armys Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness initiatives which are focused on strengthening financial reporting audit response remediation and sustainment efforts across Army organizations and service providers. This role supports the Real Property targeted mission areas where the Army requires specialized financial expertise.
You will join a team of consultants dedicated to improving the accuracy reliability and auditability of Army financial data while supporting mission-critical operations.
Your responsibilities as a FIP/FIAR Junior Consultant.
- SupportReal Property (RP) data validation and reconciliationto ensure accuracy and completeness of asset records in systems such asGFEBS iNFADS and DPW source systems.
- Supportsite visits and physical inventory proceduresto validate the existence condition and completeness of real property assets including performingasset walkthroughs tagging verification photographic documentation and reconciliation of assets to system recordsin support of audit testing.
- Assist withRP process/control walkthroughs and testing including documenting business processes controls and supporting evidence related to real property lifecycle events.
- Performtie-outs and variance analysisbetween real property subsidiary systems and thegeneral ledgerto support audit readiness.
- Help prepare and organize RPaudit artifacts schedules and PBC (Provided by Client) documentation for internal reviews and external auditors.
- Supportcapitalization depreciation and asset classification reviewsunder DoD and Army real property accounting guidance.
- Track and remediateReal Property Corrective Action Plans (CAPs)and assist with updating remediation status.
- Draft clear RPworking papers and summary memosin accordance with FIAR documentation standards.
Your background will include.
- Minimum1 year of experiencein Federal financial management or commercial finance and accounting. A paid internship can count towards the experience requirement.
- Prior client-facing consulting experience ispreferred.
- Experience supporting:
- Real Property Financial Management.
- Experience working with general ledgers financial statements reconciliations audit artifacts or financial systems.
- You must be a US citizen and able to obtain a DOD Secret Clearance.
- Bachelors degree (or higher) in Accounting Finance Information Systems Business Mathematics Statistics Computer Science Data Science or related field (or qualifying experience instead of degree as applicable).
Preferred Knowledge Skills & Abilities.
- Proficiency with data tools such as SQL Python Databricks Power Platform or similar technologies.
- Strong analytical organizational and documentation skills
Compensation: Base salary is based on qualifications and experience and is expected to be in the range of $45K - $52k. Generous benefits bonus eligibility and significant professional development support are all available
