Summary
The Energy and Utilities sector is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Bookkeeper to join our finance department. Responsibilities
- Execute daily recording and categorization of financial transactions to ensure ledger accuracy.
- Assist in preparing financial statements and reports for internal review and external regulatory adherence.
- Perform reconciliation tasks for bank accounts and general ledger entries.
- Oversee invoice processing manage accounts payable and receivable cycles and resolve routine billing inquiries.
- Maintain organized physical and digital financial documentation in accordance with company protocols.
- Collaborate with senior accountants to identify and resolve discrepancies in financial data.
- Prepare basic tax filings and support the team during audit processes as needed.
- Utilize accounting platforms to generate reports and track spending specific to the Energy and Utilities landscape.
Requirements
- Possess zero to one year of prior experience in bookkeeping or a similar accounting role.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of fundamental accounting concepts and standard record-keeping practices.
- Show proficiency with bookkeeping software and standard office productivity tools.
- Exhibit meticulous attention to detail while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Maintain high ethical standards and ensure confidentiality when handling sensitive financial data.
- Communicate clearly and effectively in both written and spoken formats to support team cohesion.
- Hold a degree or professional certification in Accounting Finance or a related discipline (preferred).
