What Youll Build

As a Journeyman Ironworker (Welder) youll help turn drawings into real-world steelsafely accurately and on schedule. This role exists to keep projects moving by fabricating rigging and erecting structural members while maintaining a strong safety-first mindset.

Key responsibilities include reading steel erection/shop drawings; laying out work on concrete or existing structures; staging steel in erection sequence; selecting and inspecting rigging gear; coordinating with the crane operator via radio/hand signals; spotting equipment/material issues and notifying the Foreman; fabricating and fitting frames beams columns girders and pipe; and performing welding tasks (tack clamp grind preheat gouge repair) as needed.

Required qualifications/skills:
- 4 years as an Ironworker
- Able to weld 3G/4G in multiple applications
- Comfortable working at heights; works well with minimal supervision
- Lift experience (telehandler/boom/scissor) and strong communication
- OSHA/MSHA or similar safety certs a plus

Your Usual Shift

Youll start by syncing up with the crew checking the days drawings and getting your gear staged so nothing slows the pace later. After a quick safety check youll bounce between layout marks fit-up and weld prepcleaning surfaces dialing in the setup and keeping your area organized.

As lifts and picks happen youll stay in steady communication with the operator and teammates keeping movements smooth and controlled. Between weld passes youll handle touch-ups like grinding heating/bending or quick repairs so pieces land exactly where they should. Youll wrap by tagging materials storing rigging properly and leaving the site ready for the next days push.
