Job Summary

Koniag Operations Services LLC a Koniag Government Services company is seeking a Journeyman Electrician with a Top-Secret security clearance to support KOS and our government customer in Williamsburg KY. This position is for a Future New Business Opportunity. The ideal candidate will possess a valid Journeyman Electrical License demonstrate deep knowledge of electrical codes and safety practices and have the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The Journeyman Electrician will be responsible for performing a wide range of electrical installations maintenance troubleshooting and repair services to ensure electrical systems and equipment operate safely and efficiently. This position requires technical expertise adherence to electrical codes and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Principal responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Install maintain troubleshoot and repair electrical systems equipment and components throughout the facilityPerform electrical installations including wiring conduit systems panels switches outlets lighting fixtures and circuit breakersRead and interpret electrical blueprints schematics diagrams and technical specifications to execute installations and repairsDiagnose and troubleshoot electrical problems using testing equipment such as multimeters voltage testers and circuit analyzersConduct preventive maintenance on electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and prevent equipment failureRepair and replace defective electrical components wiring and fixtures in accordance with National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical codesInstall and maintain emergency power systems generators and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systemsPerform electrical work on motors transformers distribution panels and control systemsEnsure all electrical work complies with applicable safety standards building codes and regulatory requirementsTest electrical systems and continuity of circuits to ensure compatibility and safety of componentsRespond to emergency electrical issues and power outages providing timely diagnosis and repairCoordinate with other trades and contractors on electrical installations and facility projectsMaintain accurate records of work performed materials used and time spent on projectsEnsure proper lockout/tagout procedures are followed to maintain a safe working environmentMentor and provide guidance to apprentice electricians and helpers as neededEducation and Experience:Required:High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship program or technical trainingValid Journeyman Electrician License (state-issued)Minimum 4-5 years of experience as a licensed electrician performing installation maintenance and repair workClearance Requirement:Active Top Secret security clearanceRequired Skills and Competencies:Comprehensive knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) state and local electrical codes and OSHA safety regulationsExpertise in electrical systems including power distribution lighting controls and low-voltage systemsProficiency in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints schematics wiring diagrams and technical drawingsStrong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex electrical issuesExperience with electrical testing equipment including multimeters megohmmeters circuit analyzers and amp probesKnowledge of electrical installation techniques proper wiring methods and conduit bendingUnderstanding of three-phase power systems motor controls and variable frequency drives (VFDs)Strong attention to detail and commitment to performing high-quality electrical workExcellent problem-solving abilities with the capacity to work independently and make sound decisionsPhysical ability to lift up to 50 lbs climb ladders work in confined spaces and perform tasks in various environmental conditionsStrong communication skills with the ability to coordinate with team members supervisors and other tradesCommitment to safety practices including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to lockout/tagout proceduresAbility to work various shifts respond to emergency calls and provide on-call support as neededValid drivers license with a clean driving recordDesired Skills and Competencies:Experience working in federal government facilities or supporting government contractsExperience working in secure or classified environments with clearance requirementsMaster Electrician License or ability to obtainCertifications in specialized electrical systems (fire alarm security systems building automation)Knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS) and energy management systemsExperience with fiber optic installation and terminationTraining in arc flash safety and NFPA 70E electrical safety standardsExperience with photovoltaic (solar) systems or renewable energy technologiesProficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certificationExperience mentoring or supervising apprentice electriciansOur Equal Employment Opportunity PolicyThe company is an equal opportunity employer.
