Journey-Level Engineer Job Description
Transmission Engineering
Job Responsibilities:
- Resolve problems of moderate scope using standard solutions
- Independently plan work under general direction; progress reviewed periodically for technical accuracy
- Perform functions of Associate level Engineer as needed
- Provide technical expertise conduct engineering analyses studies and develop conceptual designs
- Present findings to internal teams contractors and vendors
- Conduct walkdowns and design review meetings
- Prepare technical documents including design criteria scope documents specifications and reports
- Develop evaluate and recommend alternative project proposals
- Solicit prepare and evaluate contracts/proposals from engineering consultants
- Review consultant contracts for technical compliance
- Interpret and apply applicable codes and regulations
- Participate in developing restoration plans and assist in root cause analysis
- Approve reports new drawings and revisions to existing drawings
- Respond promptly to facility failures in emergencies
- Represent the utility to government bodies for assigned projects
Qualifications:
- Minimum:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering from an accredited US curriculum or equivalent from outside the US
- 3 years of cumulative experience in engineering and design
- Desired:
- Electrical transmission line engineering for 115kv500kv
- Strong familiarity with GO 95 NESC and transmission line standards and construction practices
- Strong familiarity with PLS-CADD PLS-POLE etc.
- Skills in project management
