Job Summary

Job Title: Java Engineer (Microservices & AWS) Location: Moline IL (Hybrid - Onsite 4 Days a Week) Position Type: 3 Months Contract (Potential for Extensions) Pay Rate: $40.00 $55.00 / hr (Depending on Experience) Domain: Computer / Internet / B2B Web Infrastructure

JOB DESCRIPTION: A leading global innovator in enterprise fleet and B2B digital infrastructure solutions is seeking a skilled Java Engineer to join their high-growth core platform team. This hybrid role based in Moline IL is critical for participating in the full development life cycle and heavily focuses on production support incident management and ensuring service-level agreements (SLAs) are met for customer-facing web applications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Microservices Development: Build and manage loosely coupled resilient and highly available microservices using Java 11 architecture.
Production Support & Execution: Drive robust production support rapid incident management and continuous optimization to ensure systems meet global reliability standards.
Testing & CI/CD Pipeline: Write comprehensive unit tests and perform manual/automatic integration testing using GitHub Actions.
Collaboration: Work closely within Agile teams utilizing Jira to design APIs and track development lifecycle metrics.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience: Minimum 3 years of direct hands-on experience in web application development and core production support environments.
Core Backend Stack: Expert-level knowledge of Java 8 or above Spring Boot Spring Framework and Spring Security.
Database & Architecture: Deep understanding of PostgreSQL database systems and RESTful web services design.
Cloud Platform: Proven exposure to the AWS cloud platform ecosystem including ECS RDS EC2 Elastic Beanstalk S3 SQS and Lambda.
Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related technical field.

NICE-TO-HAVES (PLUS POINTS):

Hands-on experience with TypeScript ReactJS and Redux frameworks.
Active AWS Certifications.
