Job Summary

Were looking for an experienced IT Workflow Developer based in one of our offices. Regular travel to other office locations may be required. Having access to personal transport is beneficial but not essential.

You will play a key role in identifying designing developing and supporting automated business processes that enhance efficiency improve user experience and drive digital transformation across the firm. Working closely with business stakeholders you will analyse existing processes gather requirements and deliver innovative workflow and automation solutions using modern technologies and platforms.

You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of workflow development from initial consultation and solution design through to testing deployment documentation and ongoing support involving integrating systems managing data flows troubleshooting technical issues and collaborating with internal teams and third-party suppliers to ensure reliable and effective solutions.

Throughout each project you will maintain ownership of deliverables act as the key liaison between business users and technical teams. You will provide regular updates manage priorities effectively and ensure solutions are delivered to a high standard meeting both operational and strategic objectives.

The successful candidate will be passionate about leveraging technology to streamline business processes and deliver measurable value to the firm.

Key Responsibilities:

Workflow & Systems Engineering

  • Develop configure and maintain workflows across case management practice management and finance systems.
  • Design and implement technical solutions that streamline business processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Follow development standards version control practices and documentation requirements.

Data Automation & Integration

  • Analyse end-to-end data flows across business systems.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data quality accuracy performance and automation.
  • Build and maintain automated processes using platforms such as Case Management software Microsoft Power Automate or equivalent technologies.

Continually review and optimise existing workflows and integrations.

Governance Quality & Operational Excellence

Ensure all developments comply with change management and release processes.

Maintain accurate and comprehensive technical documentation.

Participate in root cause analysis and problem resolution activities.

Ensure solutions are secure resilient and compliant with regulatory and firm standards.

Risk Security & Compliance

Design solutions that protect confidential and sensitive information.

Apply secure development practices and maintain audit-ready records.

Support business continuity and disaster recovery considerations for critical systems.

Ensure compliance with GDPR information security policies and legal sector best practices.

About you:

  • Proven experience in workflow development business process automation systems integration or a related IT role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with experience gathering business requirements and translating them into effective technical solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining a high standard of delivery and customer service.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working within project delivery frameworks change management processes and agreed service levels.
  • A proactive approach to learning new technologies and driving continuous improvement across business processes.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to document workflows requirements and technical solutions effectively.

Technical Skills & Experience Required:

  • Workflow Automation & Development: Experience designing developing and supporting automated workflows using tools such as Microsoft Power Automate Logic Apps or similar platforms.
  • Business Process Analysis: Ability to analyse existing business processes identify inefficiencies and implement effective automated solutions.
  • Systems Integration: Experience integrating business applications and services using APIs connectors web services or middleware technologies.
  • Microsoft Power Platform: Knowledge of Power Automate Power Apps Dataverse and related Microsoft technologies.
  • Data Management: Experience working with SQL databases data mapping data transformation and reporting tools.
  • Microsoft 365: Strong understanding of SharePoint Online Teams Outlook and wider Microsoft 365 services.
  • Development Skills: Experience with scripting and development technologies such as PowerShell JSON JavaScript C# .NET or similar technologies would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Requirements Gathering & Documentation: Experience producing functional specifications process maps technical documentation and user guidance materials.
  • Testing & Deployment: Knowledge of solution testing user acceptance testing (UAT) release management and deployment processes.
  • Support & Maintenance: Ability to troubleshoot workflow failures investigate system issues and provide ongoing support for business applications and integrations.
