RCO is head-quartered in Olympia WA on the states capital campus. RCO will consider candidates that can successfully do this job from another location (in-state only) with occasional travel to Olympia for meetings and other functions.

What you will do:

The Recreation and Conservation Office (RCO) employs this position and dedicates this full-time position to the Puget Sound Partnership (PSP) through the interagency agreement that includes providing IT staff infrastructure and application hosting support and oversight to the PSP.


The Recreation and Conservation Office (RCO) IT Section provides the Puget Sound Partnership (PSP) with network server storage client computer software and application support to agency staff. The IT Section functions as part of the PSP Operations and Internal Performance Division along with the Administration and Fiscal sections.

Duties


Some of what youll enjoy doing includes:

  • Provide tier-1 and tier-2 technical support to customers with issues or service requests about hardware software and applications
  • Monitor and report computer equipment and services usage patterns and forecast future agency needs
  • Recommend and purchase computer equipment and services for agency use Install client computer hardware software and applications
  • Provide training to customers on using hardware software and applications
  • Maintain client computer and peripheral equipment inventories
  • Process surplus equipment
  • Perform standard maintenance of client computers and printers
  • Orient new employees to agency network client computers file servers printers software and applications

Qualifications


REQUIRED:

  • Must possess a valid Washington State drivers license free from serious traffic violations.
  • Must pass the state IT Security Awareness training within one month of hire.
  • Must take the state Purchasing and Procurement training before making purchases.
  • 1 year or more of information technology experience such as analyzing designing installing programming and/or maintaining computer software applications hardware telecommunications or network infrastructure equipment.

  • 1 year or more of experience providing technical support to users of the Microsoft Windows client computer environment.

  • 1 year or more of experience administering Microsoft Windows client operating systems such as Windows 7 8 10 and installing/uninstalling software upgrades patches and service packs for Windows Server Update Services (WSUS).

  • 1 year or more of experience actively protecting computer systems from internal and external security threats using software such as RSA VPN FortiNet firewall Microsoft Security Center Windows Defender end-point security RiskSense vulnerability

  • assessment or Azure Sentinel log monitoring.

  • 1 year or more of experience with Microsoft Officeand other user productivity software installed on premise or Cloud such as Adobe Acrobat or WebEx video conferencing.

  • 1 year or more of experience administering IT Service Management applications such as Jira Service Desk.

  • 1 year or more of experience configuring client computers building images and deploying images using Microsoft System Center Configuration Management (SCCM) software.

  • 1 year or more of experience administering networks and WiFi networks using software such as HP OneView or Aerohive.

  • 1 year or more of experience administering Microsoft Active Directory Federated Services or Azure Active Directory and user/group policies.

  • 1 year or more of experience administering Microsoft Exchange or Exchange Online email accounts and email services.

  • 1 year or more of experience administering cell phone security applications and patching through mobile device management.

  • 1 year or more of experience backup and recovery of desktop computers servers applications and data using software such as Veeam Symantec Backup Exec NetApp SnapShot/SnapMirror or Microsoft SyncToy.
