Job Summary
The Basics
Tanium is growing and is searching for a dynamic IT Systems Business Analyst that will play a pivotal role in leading strategic projects that support the companys objectives. The Business Analyst will leverage their strong analytical skills and experience with IT workflows and systems to partner with our business stakeholders and deliver insightful analysis and recommendations to them. It will be critical to establish a trusted partnership and build a deep understanding of our stakeholders processes and requirements to expose gaps and inefficiencies and drive automation and optimization. Responsibilities will include the elicitation analysis and documentation of business requirements the creation and maintenance of process flow diagrams the creation and organization of user stories that encapsulate project deliverables and involvement in solution design. Furthermore the Business Analyst will promote a culture of high visibility and transparency to build and maintain trust with our stakeholders. This includes maintaining clear and consistent communication with our stakeholders to ensure clear expectations and providing updates on the status of their projects.
A key responsibility is to maintain a keen awareness of how projects across different departments interconnect and impact each other. The Business Analyst must understand the broader IT landscape including the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and how various initiativeswhether in Sales Marketing Finance Procurement GTM or Human Resourcesare interdependent. This holistic perspective is essential for identifying opportunities for synergy minimizing duplication and ensuring that solutions are scalable and aligned with enterprise goals.
The right candidate will have a good understanding of common IT technologies such as the Microsoft technology stack and associated platforms. The candidate should have experience and knowledge with regards to Corporate Data warehousing as well as a strong understanding of corporate data which would include all back-office systems as well as enterprise data warehouses. Also desired is familiarity with Sales Marketing Financial Procurement GTM and Human Resources business processes and supporting technologies. Being able to confidently interface and present appropriately abstracted data to all levels of an enterprise organization is paramount to the overall success of this role. A strong technical and analytical mindset excellent communication skills and a proven track record of delivering impactful business solutions is a must. The IT Systems Business Analyst will report to the Manager Data Engineering and work closely with all areas of our G&A functions.
This position follows the Companys hybrid schedule which currently requires employees to work in the office at one of the following locations a minimum of three days per week: Addison TX; Bellevue WA; Durham NC; Emeryville CA; or Reston VA.
What youll do
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Conduct comprehensive analysis of business processes and systems to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Develop and present detailed business requirements and project proposals to support decision-making processes.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to design implement and monitor solutions that enhance business performance.
- Develop and maintain documentation including process maps workflow diagrams and project reports.
- Ability to write comprehensive use cases/test cases and help guide stakeholders through user acceptance testing.
- Create and present current transition and future state architectural diagrams to internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide first line support and manage tickets pertaining to the Data Engineering team.
Were looking for someone with
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
- Exceptional documentation skills with an emphasis on business requirements and process flows.
- Expertise in data analytics data engineering data pipelines integrations and data warehousing.
- Expertise in translating business needs into technical work across critical business processes (e.g. data integrations security protocols) with an emphasis on the IT technology stack.
- Expertise in executing the strategy planning development and deployment of technical solutions across enterprise technology solutions.
- Experience with common all enterprise technologies (Microsoft NetSuite Snowflake Zip SuccessFactors Salesforce ServiceNow etc.).
- Experience with data mapping and integration.
- Excellent communication skills.
- 3 years of experience in related field
- 3 years of experience with common IT technologies
- Understanding of SOX and ITGC compliance

What youll get
The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $101000 to $155000. This range is an estimate for what Tanium will pay a new hire. The actual annual base salary offered may be adjusted based on a variety of factors including but not limited to location education skills training and experience.
