Field Technology Manager


Our client runs a multi-location operation and is adding a hands-on technology leader to keep its site systems running and improve them over time. This role sits between the IT team and the people who work at the locations. Youll lead a small support team and still get your hands dirty when a site is down.


What youll work on

  • Lead and develop a team of IT support staff. Set priorities coach on troubleshooting and keep response times tight.
  • Be the escalation point for site technology issues: POS payment devices local networks and the applications on-site managers use every day.
  • Keep transaction data flowing cleanly from the locations to the back-office and reporting systems.
  • Plan and run technology projects: new installs hardware refreshes software rollouts and configuration changes.
  • Own day-to-day relationships with technology providers and hold them to their commitments.
  • Partner with operations leaders to find friction in daily workflows and fix it with better tools or configuration.
  • Maintain security and PCI practices across site environments.
  • Travel to locations for installations site issues and hands-on support.


What you bring

  • 5 years in IT supporting multi-site retail hospitality or service environments with a heavy POS component.
  • Deep familiarity with commercial POS platforms and the hardware networking and integrations behind them.
  • Experience leading or mentoring technical support staff.
  • Comfort managing vendors and troubleshooting across multiple parties.
  • Working knowledge of payment processing and PCI requirements.
  • The ability to juggle live support and project work without dropping either.
  • Willingness to travel to company locations as needed.
  • A degree in IT or computer science is preferred. Equivalent experience is fine.
