The College of Arts and Sciences is seeking an experienced IT Manager to provide leadership and oversight for information technology operations supporting 21 academic departments and two ROTC units (Army and Air Force). This position leads a team of IT professionals and is responsible for ensuring reliable secure and effective technology services across the College.
The IT Manager oversees the security administration and operation of CAS servers and technology infrastructure while providing leadership for day-to-day IT support and long-term technology needs. The position works closely with College leadership departments faculty staff and university technology partners to identify needs resolve issues implement solutions and maintain secure and efficient systems.
Successful candidates will have strong verbal and written communication skills excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. The position requires demonstrated technical knowledge of computer operations and experience troubleshooting and resolving hardware software networking and systems-related issues.
Technical experience should include Microsoft Windows and Apple operating systems computer and printer hardware TCP/IP networking office productivity software multimedia equipment digital signage print servers mobile device management (MDM) VMware and Active Directory including Group Policy management and implementation.
The ideal candidate will bring a combination of technical expertise leadership customer service and sound judgment to support the diverse academic research administrative and operational technology needs of the College of Arts and Sciences.
- High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date) plus six years related experience. Post-secondary education may substitute for years of required experience.
Certifications Registrations and/or Licenses:
Valid Drivers License.
Skills Proficiencies and/or Knowledge:
Must possess some technical knowledge regarding computer operations including proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing hardware and software issues. Support level skills in Microsoft Windows and Apple OSX computer and printer hardware client based networking software (TCP/IP) office productivity software and multimedia equipment strong verbal and written communication skills excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team highly desirable.
