Job Summary
Position Summary
In this position the candidate will operate maintain and support the technology infrastructure at Institute Of Marine Sciences ( IMS ) including computer communications servers lab equipment and office equipment facility monitoring and other technology-based systems as designated. This position will provide technical consultation support and training for the research academic instructional and administrative activities. Responsibilities include supporting computer hardware and software systems operating systems and applications network infrastructure cybersecurity video conferencing platforms telephone systems copiers printers scanners fax machines and other office and laboratory technologies. Additional responsibilities include installing configuring and supporting network infrastructure and hardware including cabling switches routers and related equipment. This position will assist faculty staff and students in the effective use of operating systems and technology position will provide broad technical knowledge across multiple technologies strong analytical and problem-solving abilities and the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with a wide range of users vendors and campus partners. This position will diagnose and repair installed systems where outside support may not be available.
