Summary

You will serve as an IT Cybersecurity Specialist (SYSADMIN) in the Infrastructure Branch of the Operations Department Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Div LKE SE & ALRE Group of NAVAIRWARCENADLKE.


Duties
  • You will provide authoritative advice which is accepted as accurate by management and is used as the basis for managerial decisionmaking.
  • You will direct the work of other employees (of equivalent or lower Pay Bands) who may be involved in performing segments of the overall work under the employees cognizance.
  • You will participate in definition of assignments determine approaches from a wide range of alternatives andidentify and assemble required resources.

  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position work role code (451) proficiency level (intermediate) the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the DS-03 (GS-09/10) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail customer service oral communication and problem solving performing duties such as:

  • Administering configuring monitoring and maintaining organizational operating systems (e.g. Windows Server Red Hat Enterprise Linux) and physical/virtual server environments (e.g. VMware Hyper-V).
  • Managing user accounts domain services group policies NTFS file share permissions and network storage access.
  • Executing system updates software deployments and automated patching cycles while monitoring overall system performance capacity and : Diagnosing and resolving complex system-level operational hardware software or cross-platform integration problems.
  • Performing vulnerability scans applying security patches and executing remediation protocols to fix system weaknesses.
  • Implementing and maintaining information-system security controls in compliance with DoD standards such as DISA STIGs (Security Technical Implementation Guides) and the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Ensuring system configuration compliance and maintaining security-related system documentation.
