Special Instructions: Interpreters are required to demonstrate expert knowledge in providing interpreting services for deaf/hard-of-hearing individuals.
Incumbent performs a range of straightforward to complex tasks. Some variation in the work pattern. Minor planning of content and/or limited choice of work method within general guidelines established by the supervisor. Consequences of error would cause minor to significant inconvenience or embarrassment and would be limited to the work section. Most errors could be corrected within one day to one week.
The incumbent regularly deals with a range of more complex inquiries and requests for information. Contacts may include faculty staff and students and external agencies. The incumbent occasionally initiates inquiries or requests for information with other entities arising from
his/her own work.
