Internship Commissions & Advisory Billing (Year-Round)

About the Role:

Bairds Operations Department (Ops) is the best kept secret in the financial services industry and plays a critical role to the success and growth or the partner with the different business and functions within Baird with the goal of driving efficiencies and reducing risk to the firm. The Commissions and Advisory Billing team supports both advisory and brokerage business managing the processes that ensure advisors are compensated accurately and timely. As an intern youll assist with processing commissions statements and assisting financial advisors with questions on policy and commission payments.

This internship requires working full time during the summer 37.5-40 hours per week Monday-Friday and work part time during the school semesters 15-20 hours per week in our downtown Louisville KY office. We are seeking a local student who can start in January 2027 or earlier.

• Assist with processing commissions statements
• Use technology tools to build process automation and improve commissions processes
• Work with financial services operational systems and technology
• Participate in daily team meetings and collaborate across the firm to help ensure highly efficient customer service
• Work in a team-oriented collaborative environment

What Youll Bring to Baird:

• Pursuing a bachelors degree in business finance business analytics economics information technology management information systems or related degree preferred
• Anticipated graduation date of May 2028 or later
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in a team environment and manage priorities to meet specific deadlines
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills with a high attention to detail
• Strong client service critical thinking and troubleshooting skills
• Interest in technology such as coding (ex. SQL VBA) and visualization tools (ex. PowerBI) a plus
