POSITION SUMMARY:
Advanced Energy is seeking Electrical Engineering Interns and Co-op students to support development activities across our North American design sites.
In this role you will work alongside experienced engineers on the design testing and implementation of power conversion controls and measurement solutions. Interns will have opportunities to gain hands-on experience in product development laboratory testing troubleshooting and engineering analysis.
This position is located in Eden Prairie MN.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
As an intern you may have the opportunity to:
- Support product development projects as part of a cross-functional engineering team
- Assist with testing and troubleshooting prototype hardware
- Collect analyze and document test results
- Support design verification activities in the laboratory
- Learn and apply engineering principles to solve technical problems
- Assist with circuit design and evaluation
- Participate in modeling and simulation activities
- Help develop documentation reports and presentations
- Collaborate with engineers across design manufacturing and test teams
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Location: Eden Prairie MN
- Environment: in office and lab environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in:
- Electrical Engineering
- Computer Engineering
- Electrical and Computer Engineering
- Coursework in circuits electronics signals and systems power systems controls or related subjects
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
Preferred:
Experience with one or more of the following is a plus:
- Laboratory test equipment such as oscilloscopes multimeters power supplies or logic analyzers
- Circuit design and analysis
- MATLAB Simulink LTspice PSpice or similar engineering tools
- CAD tools for schematic capture and PCB design
- Embedded systems or microcontrollers
- Programming in C C Python or MATLAB
- Serial communication protocols such as UART SPI or I²C
EDUCATION:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering or a related fieldRising sophomore junior or senior preferredMinimum GPA of 3.0 preferred
COMPENSATION:
As required by multiple state pay transparency laws Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including but not limited to skill set level of experience and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $22 to $28 per hour.
